A just released white paper describes some of the work being done to create a unified Cyber Simulation Standard and a novel approach to training and assessing Cyber Warriors. In the near future, we will start to release historic campaign primitives used to run Packetwars Battles in the Scenarios Definition Language (SDL) format. Stay tuned….

We will hold our annual Packetwars Battle in Heidelberg Germany at Day-Con’s sister conference Troopers March 19, 2014. The speaker line up looks great and the ERNW crew will be helping make it a memorabilia event. If you have never been I suggest you go. It is the best conference in the world!

Fighting out of Paris, team PETZ, beat out the other RED teams by successfully accomplishing their primary objective and scoring the most points. This year’s Hacksec Packetwars invitational was one of the best we have ever had. It witnessed the graduation of the first 4 certified Packetwars Cyber Warriors and the defeat of last year’s champions ZLF (Zombie Liberation Front). Everyone played hard and had fun so by all accounts was a success.

A great time was had by all. The Living Dead anti-Defamation League won a close battle that came down to the last minute (as usual). Troopers 13 was a great way to kick of the new year and truly has taken the slot of “Best Con Ever!”
Next Battle will be at Dartmouth College for SISMAT 2012.

Normally I do not make New Years resolutions because they are rarely kept. However, I am committed to keeping the content fresh this year. Many of you who follow PacketWars know that we do not use the website enough to communicate and promote the sport. This is not because there isn’t activity. I’m just a lazy hacker.
Some Highlights:
1. Day-Con V came and went. With the ERNW All Stars winning the coveted winners cup the second year in a row.
2. Collegiate games at Dartmouth
3. PacketWars Proshop move
4. Sanctioning and Franchise Activity
5. Platform enhancements
So I promise to try to be more diligent and leverage the site to better communicate, educate and entertain.
ERNW did it again. The best year ever at Troopers. What an awesome battle in Heidelberg’s Old Town near the University. Check out all the action in HiDef!
